Comox Valley Animal Hospital is open for business. We are doing our best to work within the limits of physical distancing protocols so that your pets can receive the health care they need. We are committed to finding ways to work with you and your pet during these unusual times. Please be patient as things may take a little longer than normal.
Our front door is locked so call ahead if you need to order prescriptions or food. We can set items aside for you and take payment over the phone. When you arrive at the clinic you can call us from the parking lot and one of our staff will take your order out to you. For prescription refills please call the day before you wish to pick them up.
Our doctors can still examine your pet in the hospital at a pre-arranged appointment time but you will need to wait outside. The doctors will consult with you by phone. We realize that handing your pet through the door without your comforting presence inside the hospital is not ideal. Please know that we will handle them with love and care. For dogs there is possibility to have an outdoor consultation with the veterinarian in the back yard of the clinic. (weather permitting). You will still need to remain 6 feet away which means that one of our staff will hold your dog while the veterinarian does an examination. Unfortunately this scenario will not be safe for cats due to the possibility of escape!
We thank you for your continued support and business. May you all stay healthy and safe.

"I’ve been going to CVAH for as long as I’ve lived in the Comox Valley. I own bulldogs. That means that my dogs have all kinds of medical problems, common ones, and sometimes unusual ones. The vets at CVAH always treat me and my resident dogs and foster dogs with professionalism, kindness and compassion. They always make time for my pets in an emergency and make it easy for me to feel confident and relaxed with their care and common sense approach. Although I know Dr. Briggs the best, I wholeheartedly recommend all of the vets, and I am always happy to see Drs. MacDonald and Edgell as well. Dr. MacDonald is also a large animal vet. This gives him a special perspective that can help in hard-to-treat cases. Dr. Edgell’s expertise with ultrasound is another welcome skill. Your animals are lucky if they are patients here. You will find great vet care and a knowledgeable and caring staff."
